Welcome to Jaaf Harvest – Why I Started
Introduction
The last time a buyer told me their Nigerian ginger shipment arrived with molds, I wasn’t surprised. I was angry.
Because it didn’t have to happen.
If you have ever sourced agricultural products from overseas, you know the feeling.
You wait several weeks for a shipment. You keep tracking the container. You clear customs. You finally open the bags.
And something is wrong.
The color is off. The aroma is weak. The moisture content is too high. Or worse – the product is contaminated, and you are staring at a failed FDA inspection.
For many shop owners, importers, and food manufacturers, these problems are not occasional inconveniences. They are recurring business risks that cost time, money, and customer trust.
I know this because I have listened to these stories firsthand.
And that is exactly why I started Jaaf Harvest.

The Conversation That Changed Everything
A few years ago while discussing with my sources; I gathered that food manufacturers in the United States who had been sourcing ginger and other agro-products from West Africa for over a decade were frustrated.
“Every shipment is a gamble,” he said. “One batch is perfect. The next is pale and weak. My QA team spends hours testing, and I spend hours chasing documentation. I don’t need cheaper spices. I need spices that are consistent.”
That conversation stayed with me.
Because I knew, from living and working in Kaduna State – one of Nigeria’s most active agricultural regions – that the quality exists. Farmers in Nigeria produce excellent ginger, turmeric, and hibiscus. The soil is rich. The climate is favorable. The product can compete with any origin in the world.
Yet there was a disconnect.
Farmers struggled to access reliable export channels and often received less value for their products. International buyers struggled to find trustworthy suppliers who could deliver consistent quality, proper documentation, and dependable shipping.
Both sides were losing.
And the problem was not the quality of the product. The problem was the supply chain connecting them.
Why Nigeria Matters
Nigeria is blessed with agricultural resources that produce some of the world’s most sought-after spices.
Nigerian ginger is valued for its high oleoresin content, strong aroma, and pungent flavor. Food manufacturers and tea blenders seek it out.
Nigerian turmeric offers curcumin content comparable to Indian turmeric, at a competitive price point.
Nigerian hibiscus (locally known as zobo) delivers deep red color and tart flavor – perfect for beverages, teas, and natural food coloring.
These products have earned recognition in international markets. Yet many global buyers still struggle to find reliable sourcing partners.
I believed there was an opportunity to change that.
The Moment of Decision
This began with a simple observation:
Reliable sourcing should not be this difficult.
After speaking with buyers, visiting farms, and seeing the supply chain inefficiencies firsthand, I realized that what the market needed was not just another exporter.
It needed a dependable bridge between source and shelf.
A company that understood both sides of the supply chain – the farmer who grows the crop and the buyer who needs it to arrive on time, at spec, with documentation.
A company that valued relationships as much as transactions.
A company that could combine quality products with professionalism, transparency, and consistency.
That realization became the foundation of Jaaf Harvest.
Building the Company I Wished Existed
From the beginning, my goal was simple:
Create the kind of sourcing partner I would want if I were importing products from thousands of miles away.
Not a supplier that disappears after receiving payment.
Not a middleman with little control over product quality.
Not a business that treats customers as order numbers.
Instead, I wanted to build a company that prioritizes communication, accountability, and long-term relationships.
Every decision we make is guided by a simple principle:
If we expect buyers to trust us, we must earn that trust through our actions.
How We Solve the Problem
At Jaaf Harvest, we focus on removing the common pain points associated with agricultural sourcing.

International trade requires proper paperwork. We handle export documentation, COAs, and FSVP – supporting records.

We coordinate DDP shipping to the United States for retailers. One price. One contact. Your product arrives at your door.

Our Values
Every company has products. What truly differentiates a company is its values.
Honesty
We believe in transparent communication. If there is a challenge, we communicate it. If expectations need adjustment, we discuss them openly. Trust begins with honesty.
Integrity
Even when no one is watching, we strive to do what is right convenient or otherwise. Integrity influences how we source products, manage relationships, and serve customers
Consistency
Consistency is one of the most valuable qualities in international trade. Buyers need to know what to expect every time they place an order. Our goal is to deliver that consistency through disciplined processes and continuous improvement.
